Accelerating global product traceability

Brought internal teams, partners and platforms into one delivery model, then reshaped it through the pandemic to protect delivery and reduce cost.

$45mglobal programme

The challenge

A global product specification and traceability transformation had to connect multiple Mars segments, technology partners and competing delivery models.

What changed

  1. Held overall programme budget accountability and created a single integrated delivery organisation.
  2. Led the Veritas PLM deployment and vendor selection for Helix, the legal-text capability, alongside data and implementation partners.
  3. Defined the programme structure, governance and operating model across a multi-party ecosystem.
  4. Introduced more agile delivery practices focused on priority business outcomes.
  5. Redefined the operating model during the COVID-19 pandemic, replacing a high-travel approach with graduate and contractor capability that protected the timeline while reducing cost.
Scale

A $45m, three-year, cross-segment Mars programme with a large blended organisation of associates, consultants and partners.

Result

A more integrated and adaptable delivery model, a timeline the organisation could achieve, lower operating cost and materially shorter lead times for priority changes.

What it enabled

A practical demonstration that enterprise governance and faster delivery can reinforce one another.
