Beyond work

Built, shared, explored.

Family comes first. I’m happiest when we are learning, making or discovering something together—and when curiosity turns into real experience.

Family comes first.

My career matters, but family is the centre of everything. The best memories are the ones we make together—holidays, festivals, new experiences and joining in with one another’s passions.

Learn it. Then do it.

DIY reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to. I listen to the theory, learn from people who know more than me, then roll up my sleeves and gain the experience—across electrics, plumbing, plastering, kitchens, bathrooms, carpentry and repairs.

Comfort zones are negotiable.

Mental wellbeing matters to me. So does discovering what becomes possible when the story in your head changes.

Firewalking and arrow breaking were undertaken as trained, supervised personal-development exercises.

05 / Look inside

How does that work?

I never really grew out of asking. Factories, AI, quantum mechanics, genetics and philosophy all open another door.

03 / Turn it up

Music is better live.

Even better when shared. Festivals are where the ordinary rules loosen and the stories get louder.

06 / Join in

From small cars
to big bikes.

I join my son in his remote-control car hobby, explore 3D printing and creative builds with my daughter, and maintain my own motorbike. Shared projects are serious engineering, good learning and even better time together.

07 / Move

Healthy body.
Healthy mind.

Rowing gives me the mix I value most: shared purpose, physical effort and the discipline to keep improving. Moving together as a crew clears the mind, builds resilience and makes wellbeing something active rather than abstract.
